Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas (WSDET) is proud to recognize Provalus for being named the 2022 Veteran-Friendly Employer of the Year. Provalus accepted the award at the Texas Workforce Commission's (TWC) 25th Annual Texas Workforce Conference held November 30–December 2, 2022, in Dallas. The award recognizes Provalus’ innovative efforts to recruit, hire, and retain veterans as an important part of its workforce.

Provalus was nominated for the award by Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas. The nomination included letters of support from the Jasper Economic Development Corporation and the Jasper Lake Sam Rayburn Chamber of Commerce. A video highlighting the mission of Provalus, its commitment to veteran hiring and the meaning behind the award can be found HERE.

“Congratulations to the Texas employers who make the Lone Star State home to innovation and growth,” said TWC Commissioner Representing Employers Aaron Demerson. “Provalus is recognized for their commitment to hiring veterans and demonstrates the importance and benefits of creating an inclusive and diverse workplace.”

Provalus is a purpose-driven organization on a mission to revitalize rural communities by creating technology jobs. Within that mission sit several goals; one of which is to achieve a workforce consisting of 30% military veterans. Provalus’ state-of-the-art facility in Jasper employs 200 Americans in jobs traditionally done overseas. Provalus exceeds the benchmarks as a Military Friendly Employer; and the organization’s chief growth officer, Laura Chevalier, was named Veteran Champion of the Year 2022 by GIJobs.com.

Provalus also collaborates with Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas and other business and community organizations. Provalus has used the WorkInTexas.com system to post job openings. The company participated in the 2021 Teacher Externship program. Provalus senior leadership serves on the Deep East Texas College and Career Advisory Board, a collaboration of public-school districts and institutions of higher education in the Deep East Texas region, including Burkeville, Jasper, Kirbyville, Newton, Spurger, Woodville School Districts and Lamar Institute of Technology and Stephen F. Austin State University.

Ms. Chevalier said, “One of the things we’ve been very passionate about in growing this business is supporting our veteran communities, their spouses, and family members. The overall business growth, sense of community, and large veteran population in Texas is unique. We’re grateful for the partnerships in this great state of Texas.”
