HDJT Grant and Partnership with CEIDC Funds Equipment to Prepare Crockett Students for Manufacturing and Health Occupations

Chairman Bryan Daniel, Commissioner Representing the Public for the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC), presented a $15,000 High Demand Job Training (HDJT) grant to Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas (WSDET) for training at Crockett ISD. With a $15,000 matching grant from the Crockett Economic and Industrial Development Corporation (CEIDC), WSDET used the grant funding to purchase equipment for Crockett ISD to train students to earn health care and manufacturing certifications.

HDJT Grant and Partnership with JEDCO Funds Equipment to Prepare Students for Computer Occupations

Through the High Demand Job Training grant program, the Texas Workforce Commission provided a $56,172 grant, which was matched by the Jasper Economic Development Corporation. Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas purchased $112K in equipment to train students attending the Deep East Texas College and Career Academy in high demand computer occupations.

Teacher Externship 2023 - Connecting Education and Industry to Prepare Tomorrow's Workforce

The third annual Workforce Solutions Deep East Texas Teacher Externship was held June 12-16, 2023, to highlight the skills necessary for success in high-demand industries across Deep East Texas. Twenty-four businesses and 24 teachers from 16 Independent School Districts collaborated to better prepare today’s students for tomorrow’s workforce.
